Dry type air cooled transformers can be manufactured suitable for indoor or outdoor application, They are widely used for marine and offshore service and are fitted where it is not possible to fit liquid filled equipment, such as in the roof of a building or other confined areas. The modern insulation systems and materials employed in these transformers are Class F, H and C.
Minimum periodic maintenance is required.
